Tip of the Month - Focus Lock and Action Shots
Problem: Many
photographs end up out of focus because many automatic cameras focus on the
wrong thing when the photo is taken.
Solution: To avoid this, use the "focus lock" on your
digital point-and-shoot camera:
- Press down half-way
on your shutter button while pointing your camera at the
subject you want in focus. This "locks down" the focus,
exposure and white balance.
- Without letting
up on the shutter, move your camera to give you the composition you
want to achieve.
- Press down
the rest of the way on the shutter to take the picture.
Utilizing this
technique will cut down on the shutter "lag time" digital
cameras have when you shoot your photo. Your "action" photo
will be sharp, beautifully composed and ready to enlarge. Sincerely,
